The Smoke Squadron, the Air Demonstration Squadron of the Força Aérea Brasileira (Brazilian Air Force) founded in 1952, put on a show over the Acaraú River in Sobral, Ceará November 16, 2012. The 7 T-27 Tucano airplanes performed 55 high-performance aerobatics which lasted about 40 minutes on the day following Republic Day, the day commemorating the end of the Empire of Brazil and the Proclamation of the Brazilian Republic in 1889.
