Every other week a very lovely lady comes to our home to clean for us. Over the past year plus, her family has gone through many difficulties. One of which is that her father was diagnosed with brain cancer. In preparation for December 7’s HELP-PORTRAIT event that we coordinated here in Sobral, we asked her if she had any pictures of her ailing father. She didn’t recall having one, or even one worth mentioning with her sons. The following weekend we went to her home and photographed her father, as he would be unable to leave the house to come to the event later on. This is one of my favorite images of him from that day.
