President Dilma Rousseff was here in sobral this week on São José day to announce the investment in the region of R$ 300,000,000 (Three Hundred Million Reis). The money is to build cisterns and reinforce water supplies, water sanitation projects, combat hunger in municipalities in Ceará, and to also the development of sustainable family farming without the use of pesticides.. Governor of Ceará, Cid Gomes and Mayor of Sobral, Clodoveu Arruda also spoke and accepted the certificates from the President.
This was a fun event to be at. It was my first chance to photograph Brazil’s president, and my second opportunity to photograph a President while still in office (George W. Bush being the first in 2008).
