I was so happy to have been able to visit the Grand Canyon recently since arriving here in Arizona 2 months ago, although it looks like it will be the last time for quite some time. The Grand Canyon National Park has issued a statement announcing that they will be closing the park down for major repairs. Spokesperson Alex Blaine Layder said, “We have discovered a giant crack running through the length of the park and due to growing safety concerns we are going to began repairs to make the park safe again.” They did not state how long they expected the closure to be.
