When we arrived at this river in rural Maranhão, one of the first things I noticed, was this lone cow tied to a post on the rivers edge. While we played in the river, jumped from the bridges and sat & talked with each other, he just watched. When I went over to him, waist deep in the river I saw all of the lily pads and reeds lining the shore. The entire time I was taking his picture he just stared straight at me.
