This year I have been busy. In September I heard about HELP-PORTRAIT, a photographic movement started by Photographer Jeremy Cowart. An ongoing project where you, 1- find somebody in need, 2- take their portrait, 3- print their portrait & 4- deliver it. My wife was a huge help in getting people and a few local businesses involved with donations. We held the event with the rest of the world on December 7th and photographed 55 people from 18 families in need. The following week we had over 40 youth from our church go out to the nearby neighborhoods and gather nearly 300 Kilos of food. This last weekend we divided the food and toys we had gathered as well as the portraits of ‘our’ families and delivered them Saturday afternoon.
2 families were not home to receive their portraits, so on Christmas Day, my wife Sofiane, daughter Audrey and my mother Eileen went to deliver the food bags, toys and portraits to them. It was something real special to see their faces and hear their comments when they received their portraits.
One woman commented ‘Is this a celebrity?’ when she saw her portrait.
My wife replied, ‘Isn’t it?!’
The woman laughed, then paused, then said ‘um, ya.’

This family standing in their doorway displaying their portraits is this weeks ‘Photo of the Week’.
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!
