The 18th Festival de Quadrilhas Juninas de Sobral was a wonderful display of color and culture as 17 groups from all over the region came with their costumes. The festival was sponsored by the Department of Culture and Tourism of Sobral and was without a doubt a success with an estimated 15,000 spectators in attendance over the 3 evening event. The dances tell variations of a so to speak ‘redneck wedding’ in Northeast Brazil Folklore.
