Saturday afternoon I accompanied a few people in a small 6-seater dual prop airplane to fly from Sobral down to Juazeiro do Norte and back. Juazeiro do Norte Is the second largest city in the northeastern state of Ceará. By car the trip takes about 8 hours, but flying direct took only just over a hour and a half. I really enjoyed the flight, being able to see more of the state from above. I now have a few new places on my list that I’d like to visit after seeing the unique rock formations as we crossed the state at dusk. It hadn’t flown in a small plane like this since January 2004 when I flew to Fairbanks from Anchorage, Alaska. Watching the gages spin and balance in relation to our position was a lot of fun.
