Photo of the Week 2016 #37

The Jabuticaba tree is a very beautiful tree. Its bark is a very interesting two toned brown and as you look closer you notice small flowers growing directly on the trunk, not at the ends of the branches. Their delicate flowers almost look like light green snowflakes, and as the blossoms turn to fruit they are a vibrant rich green. As the fruit matures it becomes a dark purplish-black. The fruit is very delicious and is great fresh or blended into juice.
